What
is Sunshine School?
Since
1958 Sunshine School has been serving people in Northwest Arkansas who
have developmental disabilities or delays and children who are "at
risk." The disabilities may include Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Mental
Retardation and Down Syndrome. Although most of the people we serve
are between the ages of birth to five, we serve all age groups.
I'm
worried about my nephew who is two. How much does it cost to find out
if he should come to Sunshine School?
Children
may come to our learning center to have a developmental screening and
assessment free of charge.
Isn't
it O.K. to wait until children go to kindergarten to deal with these
disabilities?
Please
don't wait! -
There is no doubt about it, the sooner a child's special needs are identified
and specific training and therapies are in place, the better the chance
of improving or overcoming problems.
How
is Sunshine School funded?
We
are a stand-alone non-profit corporation. We do not receive any funding
from school taxes. We receive our funding from state and federal grants,
United Way and individual contributions. Gifts to Sunshine School are
tax-deductible!
