Benton County Sunshine School provides transportation to and from our Developmental Day Treatment Clinic Service Facility for children with developmental disabilities. These children must be an enrolled Medicaid/Medicare recipients who have no other means of transportation or serious pressing circumstance that qualifies them for transportation to and from our facility. We offer five different bus routes that travel throughout Benton County.
Our mission is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for each of the children we transport. Our buses are staffed with a bus driver and bus aide on each route. The children are all secured in car safety seats at all times.
Our transportation staff is trained annually in:
• First Aid
• CPR
• Car Seat Safety
• Hazardous Driving Conditions
• Transporting Passengers with Special Needs
Parent Testimonial:
There are not enough words to express what a true blessing the Benton County Sunshine School Transportation System is to our family! I never imagined putting my two year old baby on a bus, but our little guy would get so excited every time he saw a bus, that we decided to give it a try. I now can not imagine him not riding the bus and he would not know how to function without his daily bus adventure. We have every confidence in and truly adore our driver. We consider Mr. Lynn a very special extension of our family and all adore him. Our little Ben, says no less than twenty times per day "I ride bus" and even tells total strangers in the grocery store. Ben feels that his day in not complete without his high fives when entering and exiting the bus daily. He has a hard time understanding that he does no "get" ride the bus on Saturday and Sunday.
The transportation system is so very well coordinated and organized. The buses are so nice, clean and very well maintained. As a very picky Mom, I have never once questioned placing my child on the bus or in the hands of the very kind professional drivers. Not only is it a tremendous blessing for our child to ride the bus to and from school, but the drivers make it a very fun and special time for children. Our son requires rescue medication to go with him everywhere. The driver and assistant are both well trained to handle the medical needs of our child. I can honestly say that I do not have a moments worry when I hand over my precious son to Mr. Lynn!
The transportation service is just another wonderful extension of the amazing Benton County Sunshine School! It is a tremendous service that I highly recommend! Thank you for offering such a safe, clean, organized and fun system for our special little angel!
Sincerely, Holly Clarke
